What it is
Is this a curriculum?
Yes, a supplemental one. Beyond Their Years teaches every concept from zero on its own, so it works alongside whatever else your kid uses.
Does it replace what we already do?
No. It goes alongside school or homeschool, whatever you already use.
What subjects?
Math and languages.
Which languages?
Chinese, Japanese, Korean, English and Spanish. Each one starts with that language's own sounds, then words, then sentences. Kids learn to read, not just speak.
How the game plays
Are there timers?
Some, and they're optional. Pace timers show kids a speed to aim for, and the two full-length mock exams are timed. Stars still come from getting it right.
How do stars work?
Stars come from accuracy only. Getting it right earns them. Speed doesn't.
What are coins?
Kids earn coins for right answers: 10 for a right first try, 5 for a right retry, none for a wrong answer. They spend them in the game's shop on characters and secrets. Coins are never real money, and you can't buy them.
What are the real prizes?
Real 3D-printed prizes, coming soon. Kids will cash in the coins they earn for small prizes like fidget spinners and trinkets. A parent approves every cash-in. Coins are earned, never bought, and kids are never paid money. Later, kids who reach a goal may get to send in their own design for us to print.
Will my kid hit a padlock mid-game?
No padlocks. Every house and game stays on the map.
What happens when my kid gets one wrong?
Nothing bad. There's no penalty. The dragon's oops is gentle, and your kid just tries again. Stars only come from right answers.
Does it work?
Do you have customer reviews?
Not yet, so we won't show you any. Here's what strangers said watching my own kids at the park: Read them
Can I see it?
Yes. Here's my kid solving quadratics with Po-Shen Loh's method: Watch
And my kid working trig derivatives: Watch
Who made this?
Ed, a homeschool dad who built it for his own kids.
Money
What does it cost?
Five monthly plans, from $10 to $129, and $50 for each brother or sister on the Math Sibling plan. Every plan opens the same full game today. See pricing
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial. PayPal asks for a card or PayPal account to start it. Cancel in PayPal before the 7 days end and you pay nothing.
How do I cancel?
Cancel any time in PayPal.
What if I have more than one kid?
Each kid needs a plan. A brother or sister can be on the $50 Math Sibling plan. Questions? Email beyondtheiryears2.71828@gmail.com and Ed answers.
Is there an AI tutor?
Not yet. Every lesson teaches each step itself, and a missed question comes back with an explanation.
